Patricia Diane Doenges, 73, passed away Thursday (March 23, 2017) at Hart Comfort House of Allegany County.
Mrs. Doenges was born on Dec. 26, 1943 in Wellsville to Raymond Merry and Winifred Isabelle Valentine (Lucas) Merry-Babcock. She was a 1961 graduate of Nunda Central School. On Dec. 28, 1985, in Wellsville, she married Josef F. Doenges, who survives.
Patricia devoted her life to that of a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by two brothers, William (Francoise) Merry of Wellsville and David (Susan) Merry of Homer; her step-father, Carl Babcock of Nunda; two step-brothers, Randy Babcock of Warsaw and Tim Babcock ;four wonderful nieces, Anne Merry and grand-nephew Benjamin Merry of Wellsville, Karen Merry of Oswego, Krista (Joshua) Kline and grand-niece Alice Kline of Norfolk, Va. and Brenna Merry of Fairfax, Va.; three special people close to our heart, Kay and Bill Bennett and Ellen Carr, also known as “The Colorado Kid”; and many, many cousins and dear friends.
Pat’s life revolved around her life as a Jehovah’s Witness. She had a passion for reading, especially mysteries and anything old. Pat was proud of her flower garden and loved to show off her primroses, sweet peas and wild flowers. In her younger days, she and her husband enjoyed travelling and vacationing in their travel trailer.
Per Pat’s wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (April 1) at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 115 Chamberlain St in Wellsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville.
