BATH – Awarding bids for the construction of an office building and records storage outbuilding, and setting the date for the Steuben County Real Property Auction top the agenda of county legislators when they meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Monday in the County Office Building, 3 E. Pulteney Square. The combined cost of the two projects was estimated earlier at $8.7 million with construction expected to begin in early May. Steuben officials have been concerned for years about the lack of space at the county building and the inconvenience for residents looking for services. In addition, the county now houses electronic voting machines and state-required records at the Old Health Care Facility on Mount Washington. Plans call for the new office building to be built on East Morris Street, and the storage facility to be located on Mount Washington. The projects follow a two-year-long study by county legislators on expansion options proposed by project engineer LaBella Associates. The Legislature also is expected to set the county’s annual real property auction for 10 a.m. July 17 at the Campbell-Savona Central School. Other legislative agenda items include:
* Submitting an application to the 2017-2018 Federal Transit Administration Formula Grants for Rural Area Programs.
* Accepting and appropriating the 2016-2017 New York State Public Safety Answering Point Operations Grant.
* Authorizing the Commissioner of Finance to set up a trust account for the Sheriff’s Office K9 program.
* Appointing members to the Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Directors.
