Local musician Jolly Roger comes to the Palmer Opera House
in Cuba, on April 9th at 2 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of patriotic songs, love
songs and just plain songs you can sing along with. All with a little humor
mixed in to make you smile. Roger Pettengill (aka Jolly Roger) will play guitar
and harmonica and sing songs that will cover many generations. This local
performer loves small towns. His wife and himself supply live and dj music for
many local wedding, birthday and anniversary parties and can be found
performing at many local establishments and for many local benefits including
Suicide prevention, Veterans, Breast Cancer, Crohns disease, ALS and many more.
This lover of singer songwriter style of music will be performing songs from
Gordon Lightfoot, Arlo Guthrie, John Mellencamp, Cat Stevens, Brooks and Dunn,
Peter Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan and many more along with video presentations in
the background. Fun for the whole family. Admission is by donation, and
refreshments will be available.
Donations to benefit the ongoing maintenance and improvements at the
Palmer Opera House. The Palmer Opera
House in Cuba is a vintage theater located in New York. This historic theater
is steeped with rich character and details of another era. Palmer Opera House
was built in 1867, and after a long and rich history fell into disrepair and
restoration began in 2006 by the Cuba Friends of Architecture, the non profit
organization charged with maintaining the historic venue. Proceeds from this show will benefit the
ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the historic venue.
