On March 23, 2017, members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) arrested Michael T. Huffman, age 53, of 8263 N. Urbana Rd. Hammondsport, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon Third Degree (D Felony) and Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon Third Degree (E Felony) in the Town of Urbana after an investigation revealed that Huffman (allegedly) illegally received a .38 caliber revolver via US Mail from the State of Florida. Further investigation revealed that Huffman also illegally transported a .22 caliber revolver to New York from the State of Florida. Huffman was arraigned in the Town Urbana Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail. Members of the U.S. Postal Inspection Services, Hammondsport Police Department, New York State Police Special Investigations Unit, Uniform Troopers and BCI Investigators from the New York State Police stationed in Bath assisted CNET with the investigation.
