Obituary: Deborah Kay "Debbie" James, 63, Wellsville

Wellsville-Deborah Kay “Debbie” James, 63 of 237 O’Connor St. died on Monday, March 20, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving caregivers, following a long illness. She was born on June 30, 1953 in Nunda, NY to Millicent (Hale) and Leland James.

In her younger childhood years, Debbie lived in Belfast, NY. She attended several schools in Allegany County. Prior to moving to Wellsville, she lived in Alfred and Belmont. She attended PWI prior to her retirement.
Debbie loved babies and animals. She enjoyed doing crafts and ceramics. One of her favorite things to do was to go out for a hamburger and soda pop.
She attended the Genesis Bible Church for many years when she was able. She enjoyed going to Sunday school classes with the children.
Debbie had her own personality. She was a loving person who showed compassion and concern for others. She will be missed by the caregivers who have cared for her in recent years. She kept the household lively at times.
She was one of fifteen children. Surviving are sisters, Marie Belec of FL, Patricia Johnson of Spring Creek, NV, and Peggy Bacon of Westfield, PA; brothers, Larry James of Olean, Terry James of Olean, John James of NY, Jerry James of Belmont, Gary James of FL, Marvin James of Wellsville, Calvin James of NY, and Marvin Collins of Indiana; aunt Norma Stuck of Wellsville; niece Alicia James of Wellsville; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Norma Winn; brothers, Harry Budinger, and Kenneth “Jimmy James” Budinger.
Debbie made an anatomical gift of her body to the University at Buffalo. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Genesis Bible Church 4193 State Rt. 19 South, Belmont, NY 14813. Pastor Bill Sylor will officiate. Burial will be at a future date at the Riverside Cemetery Belfast, NY.
