Hume — Betty A. Luckey of 10933 Route 19, died Wednesday
(March 15, 2017) in Olean General Hospital. She was born on March 27, 1925 in
Freedom, a daughter of the late Irving and Lena Murray Hurlburt. She married Beverly A. Luckey who predeceased
her on November 28, 1997. Betty was a former cafeteria employee of Fillmore
Central School. She was a member of the Hume Baptist Church, the American
Legion Auxiliary and loved bowling and playing cards with her family. Surviving
are her children, Nancy Luckey of Ridgeland, South Carolina, Beverly Hallock of
Arcade, Gary (Janet) Luckey of East Chicago, Illinois, Greg (Beth) Luckey of
LeRoy, 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great
grandchildren, a brother, Frank (Helen) Hurlburt of Freedom, a sister Edna
Jones of Machias, a sister-in-law, Gene Case of Cuba and several nieces and
nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a
brother, Bryon Hurlburt and a brother in law, Sam Jones.
Family and friends may gather from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on
Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee
Street, Fillmore. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at
2:00 p.m. at the Hume Baptist Church. Pastor Joel Stroud will officiate. Burial
will be in Freedom Cemetery, Freedom.
