Cattaraugus County man charged in “fake” shooting complaint
Cattaraugus County Sheriff Eric A. Butler reports the arrest
of Jason L. Kelley, 44, of Otto. Cattaraugus County Sheriff Deputies responded to Otto Road on February 27, 2025 for the report of a shooting incident that was
alleged to have occurred on Swamp Road in the Town of Otto. After further
investigation, it was determined that the report was unsubstantiated and
charges were filed against Kelley on March 5th 2025 for falsely reporting an
incident in the third degree. The defendant was issued an appearance ticket and
is scheduled to appear in the Town of Otto Court at a later date.
