Obituary: Michael M. “Mike” Lovell, 78, of Austin

 

AUSTIN, PA---Michael M. “Mike” Lovell, 78, of Austin, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in UPMC Cole, after a long illness.

 Born on Sunday, November 30, 1945 in Stonemarket, England, he was a son of Carl and Sheila Peck Lovell.  On July 4, 1988 in Austin he married Diane E. Dow Lovell, who passed away on October 20, 2020. 

Mike was a US Navy veteran.  He was employed at various places throughout the years. 

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. 

Surviving are his beloved companion, Donna R. Nickeson of Austin; three sons, Scott Lovell of Ridgway, Eric Lovell of Wilcox, and Jason Lovell of Wyoming; three grandchildren, Alexander, Athena and Raylin;  a brother, David Ruberto of Austin; a sister, Lorraine Hemphill of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mike was predeceased by his parents and wife. 

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no public services.  He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike’s name may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915. 

Mike’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
