2/23/24 6:42 p.m.- After investigating a weapons
complaint in the Town of Rushford, State Police arrested Walter S. Cook, 62, of
Rushford. He was charged with felony third-degree possession of an assault
rifle and criminal contempt for allegedly disobeying a court order. He was
initially detained.
2/23/24 3:16 p.m.- Wayland-based troopers arrested
David Steinmetz, 42, of Addison. He was charged with making a false written
statement, falsely reporting child abuse and endangering the welfare of a
child. He was released on an appearance ticket for court.
