Obituary: Kenneth W. Wieder, 89, of Shinglehouse

Kenneth W. Wieder  “beloved father, faithful servant of the Lord” 

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Kenneth W. Wieder, 89, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Perkasie, went to be with his heavenly Father on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness. 

Born on Monday, December 3, 1934 in Lenark, he was a son of William H. and Pauline Lapp Wieder.  On April 23, 1960, he married Kay F. Lesh, who went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2016. 

Ken was a graduate of Allentown (PA) High School.  He honorably served in the US Air Force.  He was employed at the former Hysol Company in Olean, NY. 

He was a member of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church in Shinglehouse, where he was active in the Seedline Scripture Ministries program. A gifted singer, Ken sang in the church choir.  He was faithful in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  His favorite verse was Ephesians 2: 8,9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast”. 

Surviving are two daughter, Kelly Wieder and Kathy Hope, both of Shinglehouse; a son, Kris Wieder of Shinglehouse; five siblings, Gilbert Wieder Marlene Wright, Robert Wieder, Dale Wieder, and Barry Wieder; and several nieces and nephews. 

Ken was predeceased by his parents and wife; and three siblings, Joyce McEllroy, Larry Wieder, and Charles Wieder. 

Ken will be laid to rest next to his wife in the East Sharon Cemetery, Shinglehouse. 

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11am on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, 392 Coon Crossing Road, Shinglehouse.  Pastor Phil Seely will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church Seedline Ministries, 392 Coon Crossing Road, Shinglehouse, PA 16748. 

Ken’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
