As a result of the worsening COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in and around Potter County, the Board of Commissioners has extended all county health and safety provisions through the remainder of 2020 and will reassess these policies prior to Jan. 4, 2021. All public meetings of the Board of Commissioners will be held virtually. Those who want to participate can call 814-274-0844 and, when prompted, enter 114477#. A public hearing to set the boundaries for the county’s draft LERTA ordinance will be held at 11 am on Monday, Dec. 28. Final business meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be held at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 30. Among topics on that agenda will be adoption of the county’s 2021 operating budget.
Health and safety measures were necessary to continue protection of county employees and members of the public. Access to the F.W. Gunzburger County Office Building is limited to appointment only. A similar policy is also in place at the Potter County Human Services building in Roulette. Additionally, the courthouse, emergency services building, and district judge offices are restricting public access. Many county services are available online. Telephone numbers and other contact information for county departments can be found at pottercountypa.net (click on Departments tab). All those who are admitted into county buildings must wear face coverings, submit to temperature checks and observe social distancing.
