Flames last night consumed a home on state Route 417 in Andover, near Elm Valley. The home was fully engulfed in flames when Andover firefighters arrived around 5:30 p.m. More help was quickly called in from Wellsville, Alfred Station, Scio, Almond, Whitesville and Greenwood. The occupants of the two-story home safely escaped. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Andover fire crews did not return to service until around 11 p.m.
