Obituary: Sue Ann Ahl, 56, Bolivar

Bolivar - Sue Ann Ahl, 56, of 240 North Main Street passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday December 26, 2020. Born on August 15, 1964 in Wellsville she was the daughter of David and Tomiko Kawashima Lockwood. Sue married Sean Ahl on April 20, 1996 at Allegany State Park, Mr. Ahl survives.

Sue was a graduate of Bolivar Central School and received an Associate Degree in Computer Information Technology from Jamestown Community College. Sue also received certification as a PMP Tech. Sue was employed as a project Manager for Time Warner in Coudersport PA.

She was a woman of many hobbies and hidden talents. She had a great artistic eye and loved to draw and paint. She also liked to Crochet and sew. And of course, she had her small collection of Yorkies. Her favorite hobby was coed renegade roller derby with her husband. Through derby she and Sean gained an extended family all over the east coast. They also coached a junior league to teach her grand kids and other kids in the neighborhood the sport.

Sue loved traveling whether it be in a different country, a week-long family vacation, or any random road trip. She also loved spending time with her family. She loved doing family dinners, hosting birthday parties and backyard barbecues or day trips with her grand kids to Disney on Ice, the zoo, concerts amusement parks, or state parks.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Heather (Chris) Snyder of Bolivar, Nick (Jamie) Snyder of Philadelphia, PA and Tomiko (Marty) Peterson of Bolivar; Three grandchildren, Hannah Wiatrowski, Calyn Todd, James Peterson; Three siblings, Bebe (Roger) Smith Joshua TX. Tomi Carroll Burleson TX. David (Jodi) Lockwood of Bolivar; Two close family friends, Connie White and Becky Fethers; Several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews and extended family. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Emma. There will be no prior visitation and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
