Obituary: Richard “Cowboy” Bruce Hallock Jr., 74, Fillmore

Fillmore - Richard “Cowboy” Bruce Hallock Jr., 74, of 111 West Main Street passed away peacefully Dec 28, 2020 in Buffalo General Hospital with the love of his life, Joan, holding his hand. He was born on February 28, 1946 in Fillmore, a son of the late Richard Bruce Sr. and Delia Mae Veronica Durand Hallock.

Richard worked 30 years as a heavy equipment operator in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved back to New York State after retiring in 2011 to be near his family.

He was an avid hunter and fishermen and enjoyed his four wheeler out on a country road watching the deer. If not there he could be found any morning heading up the round table with his friends at Shannon’s Restaurant in Fillmore.

Richard found the love of his life after moving back home and for over 6 years spent every day with Joan Bailey. Theirs was a special love and we all are so grateful to Joan for being there and taking such great care of our darling brother Richard.

Surviving in addition to Joan are his children, Brenda Rice, Pam Thacher, Jeffery Hallock and Timothy Hallock, all of Texas, three sisters, Beverly DeVore of Wellsville, Janice Anderson of Ogden and Janet (William) Murray of Dansville, a brother, Wayne (Sharon) Hallock of Fillmore and several nieces and nephews and cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Norman Hallock.

A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore and a public celebration of life will be held later in summer 2021.
