Clyde W. Jackson, Sr, 88, of Dover, PA and Whiting, New Jersey passed away at York Hospital on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
He was born in Wellsville, New York in October 1932 to Clare and
Anna Jackson. He was the beloved husband of Frances, who passed away in 2012.
Clyde graduated from Andover Central High School in Andover
NY, then he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for 28 years,
including serving in Vietnam. Following
his service in the Air Force, he worked in Civil Service for 20 years at
McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey.
He is survived by his children, Clyde Jackson, Jr. and
daughter, Emma Crossley and her husband John; grandchildren Mary Santiago and
her husband Nate, Alison Crossley and her fiancé John Rubendall, and many
wonderful nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his brothers,
Robert Jackson and James Jackson of Andover, NY and a sister, Margaret Jackson
of Hornell, NY.
Clyde was a 36-year member of the Andover NY, Post 0397,
American Legion and the Air Force Association. He will be dearly missed by all
who knew him. A service for Clyde will be held in the spring at Brigadier
General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
