Man with gun arrested outside Wellsville bank
Wellsville police arrested Bryent
A. Scotchmer, 26, from Scio after police received a report of a driver passed
out behind the steering wheel in the Community Bank parking lot on N. Highland
Avenue. Police Chief Tim O’Grady confirmed the man had a rifle in the front
seat on his vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident. Scotchmer was charged with felony Grand Larceny 4th
degree, felony Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd degree (previous conviction), felony
first-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree and Criminal Possession
of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument,
Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanors).
Scotchmer was arraigned via Skype by Centerville Town Justice Luke Heitzman
and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
