Allegany County Announces First Large-Scale Business Park in Wellsville

Allegany County Announces First Large-Scale Business Park in Wellsville

WELLSVILLE – The Wellsville Business Park is the first large-scale industrial park in Allegany County.  On Friday, Village of Wellsville Officials, Allegany County Officials, and owners of the property, Wellsville Business Park LLC, are proud to unveil a plan that will ensure that the former Siemens Dresser Rand facility stays active and open as the “Wellsville Business Park”.
Tenants of the new Wellsville Business Park will have the flexibility to rent office, manufacturing, and/or warehouse space tailored to their individual specifications.  With over 400,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space, much of it left intact since the Siemens closure, there’s plenty of room for start-up light manufacturing businesses or machine shops seeking to expand.  Also available is over 50,000 sq. ft. of office space that is ready-to-use, attractive, and offers all the amenities required for daily business.  New tenants will also enjoy the facility’s convenient location, security surveillance, and low-cost municipal electric service.
The Wellsville Business Park’s location in the Western NY Wilds means tenants of the facility also benefit from lower operating costs, a cost of living that is 34% lower than the national average, access to a wealth of outdoor experiences, and access to a pipeline of talented workers and educational advancement opportunities through three nationally-ranked colleges located within the county’s borders.  In addition, located in an Opportunity Zone provides attractive federal tax advantages for new businesses. “The opportunity to be part of the Wellsville community and drive economic development through a full scale business park is exciting for the Wellsville Business Park notes Jason Kulik Project Manager
Local officials are supportive of the former Dresser-Rand site’s repurposing as a multifunctional business park.
“The former Siemens Dresser-Rand facility was the heart of Allegany County’s economy. I fought tooth and nail after the devastating news of its closure to provide workers with desperately needed support and to help Allegany County rebuild after the loss. The announcement of the Wellsville Business Park, the first large scale business park in Allegany County, is an exciting economic development opportunity for the area and is indicative of the tremendous manufacturing potential of the region,” said Senator Chuck Schumer. “Allegany County is home to a top-notch highly skilled workforce, with close proximity to prestigious higher education institutions, like Alfred University and SUNY Alfred, which greatly contribute to the region’s opportunities to rebuild manufacturing. I will continue to fight to bring good-paying jobs to the Southern Tier so the region’s economy can continue to recover and grow.”

“We are glad to see the former Siemens Dresser Rand facility will be put to good use as part of the Wellsville Business Park,” said Congressman Tom Reed. “This is a big win for Wellsville and we were proud to be a part of securing new economic opportunity and jobs for the area. We have always fought for our local businesses and the communities they support, and we will continue to do so moving forward.”
“Bringing manufacturing back to the former Siemens plant has always been the goal. This new business park will become the hub from which development will grow across Allegany County and the entire region. I want to congratulate Wellsville Business Park LLC and the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency on this historic announcement,” said state Senator George M. Borrello. “Our region is blessed with a highly skilled workforce, educational institutions that partner with manufacturers and a quality of life second to none. This business park is the catalyst we need to continue our economic resurgence”

“This is a step forward for Wellsville as new opportunities are brought forward with the creative use of existing assets. I look forward to witnessing the growth of the Wellsville Business Park as development continues.”  Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio
“This facility has played a major role in the manufacturing and business history of Allegany County for several generations. Wellsville Business Park LLC will help to secure further investment in economic development, job creation, and a more vibrant future for our area. Congratulations on a successful start, from the Allegany County Board of Legislators.” Said Curt Crandall, Chairman of the Allegany County Board of Legislator.”
“Wellsville is pleased to welcome Wellsville Business Park LLC to our community. This venue for new and expansion business entities is a boost to our economy, supporting it to grow and thrive in 2021 and beyond. We look forward to working with our new partner to showcase Wellsville‘s benefits and to attract business and additional jobs to our area.” Mayor Randy Shayler
“The announcement of the first large scale business park in Allegany County is strongly supported by the Allegany County Industrial Development Agency (ACIDA),” said Craig Clark, Executive Director of the ACIDA.  “The ACIDA will continue to work closely with the owners of the site to fully develop the manufacturing and administrative opportunities available at the Wellsville Business Park, with a goal of supporting business development in Wellsville.”
