Pick a channel. Pick a site. Almost every day you'll hear demands for police reform. New York State has heard the calls and now requires EVERY municipality with a police force to develop a plan for reform. This includes every full and part time police agency whether they operate 24/7 or 4 hours per week. The plans are required to be submitted to Albany by April 1, 2021.
The first call-
Wellsville Police Chief Tim O'Grady says he has been busy developing a plan for the village board. The plan, he says, includes public review before the final submission to Albany. Although it is a police reform plan, O'Grady properly noted it is a process that ultimately is approved by the village board.
The next call- Mayor Randy Shayler
We have received the Executive Order and guidance for Chief O'Grady and for the relevant actions for Wellsville. He said - we are putting together a small group of individuals...stake holders in virtually, every group we can reach out to.
We don't anticipate any difficulties putting this together.
