Another Livingston County Drug Task Force Arrest for Drug Sales

GENESEO: The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrest of a Geneseo man following an investigation into the sale of oxycodone in the Village of Geneseo.

Raymond Salters Sr., age 56, was arrested on September 22, 2020 by members of the Livingston County Drug Task Force. Salters was charged by the Geneseo Police Department on a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with four (4) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies) and four (4) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also class B felonies).

The investigation and arrest allege the sale of prescription pain killers in the form of Oxycodone in the Geneseo area. Salters was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention, as the offenses did qualify for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act. However, the reform act does not allow a Judge to hold or set bail on a defendant accused of B felony drug sales.

Salters was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by County Court Judge Jennifer Noto. The Judge released Salters on his own recognizance (ROR) in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Salters was provided a future court date and Deputies set him free.

The Livingston County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the following agencies, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Avon Police Department, the Caledonia Police Department, the Geneseo Police Department, the Dansville Police Department, the Mount Morris Police Department, the Nunda Police Department and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
