Livingston County Drug Task Force Investigation and Arrest for Oxy Sales

GENESEO: The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrest of a Geneseo woman following an investigation into the sale of oxycodone in the Village of Geneseo.

Carolynn C. Hedges, age 49, was arrested on September 18, 2020 by members of the Livingston County Drug Task Force. The Geneseo Police Department charged Hedges on a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with two (2) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies) and two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also class B felonies).

The arrest and investigation allege the sale of prescription pain killers in the form of oxycodone in the Geneseo area. Hedges was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention, as the offenses did qualify for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act but does not allow a Judge to set bail or hold a defendant on B felony drug sales.

Hedges was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by County Court Judge Jennifer Noto. The Judge did release Hedges on her own recognizance (ROR) in accordance with the NYS Justice Reform Act. Hedges was provided a future court date by the Judge and Deputies set her free.

The Livingston County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the following agencies, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Avon Police Department, the Caledonia Police Department, the Geneseo Police Department, the Dansville Police Department, the Mount Morris Police Department, the Nunda Police Department and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
