Livingston County Drug Task Force Arrests One for Alleged Cocaine Sales

NUNDA/PORTAGE: The Livingston County Drug Task Force reports the arrest of a Nunda man following an investigation into the sale of cocaine in the Towns of Nunda and Portage. Tylor E. Parsons, age 24, was arrested on September 23, 2020 by members of the Livingston County Drug Task Force. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office charged Parsons on a Livingston County Superior Court indictment with three (3) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (class B felonies) and three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (also Class B felonies).

The arrest and investigation by the Drug Task Force alleges the sale of powder cocaine in the Nunda and Portage areas. Parsons was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention, as the offenses did qualify for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act. However, the offenses do not qualify for a Judge to set bail or hold a defendant on B Felony drug sale charges.

Parsons was later arraigned on the indictment warrant in Livingston County Court by County Court Judge Jennifer Noto. The Judge released Parsons on his own recognizance. Parsons was provided a future court date for his appearance and Deputies released him from custody.
