Alan D. “Big Al” Peck
WELLSVILLE – Alan D. “Big Al” Peck, 73, passed away
Wednesday (July 24, 2019) at home.
Alan was born on Oct. 8, 1946 to Robert Ernest Sr. and
Phoebe (Clark) Peck. He was a 1963 graduate of Wellsville Central School. He
later served in the United States Marine Corps.
Al worked many jobs in the Wellsville area over the years.
He worked 12 years with Allegany Arc as a custodian; he cleaned for the
Wellsville VFW and worked with his Uncle Jack at Reach All Tree Service in
Wellsville.
Al is survived by a sister, Myrtle G. Walters of Wellsville;
a sister-in-law, Carol Peck of Andover; his Aunt Jane and Uncle Howard Peck of
Wellsville; a special niece, Kim (Tom) Layman of Belmont; a great friend, Rick
Price of Wellsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Ernest Peck, Jr.
and Jim Peck.
There were two things that were very important to Al. He was
a life-long Buffalo Bills fan and he was a proud American Patriot. He always
had his Buffalo Bills jacket with him and his scooter was always decked out
with the American flag. Al had a unique sense of humor and those that knew him
well knew not to take him too seriously.
Al was a member of the American Legion Morrison Hayes Post
702 in Wellsville; the Wellsville VFW and the Wellsville Loyal Order of Moose
Lodge.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service with
full military honors will be held on Saturday (August 17) at 11:00 a.m. at the
American Legion Morrison Hayes Post 702. A private graveside service in
Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral
