Marjorie M. Carney:
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother
Marjorie M. Carney, 87, of 7341 County Rd. 1, Friendship,
passed away Thursday, May 03, 2018 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center after a
short illness.
Born on November 21, 1930, in Cuba she was a daughter of
Homer G. and Blanche R. Swartout Goodliff.
On November 12, 1949, she married her husband of 68 years, Arthur
Carney, who survives.
She was a graduate of Friendship Central School. After high school she worked for a short
period at ACME Electric of Cuba and later worked for Cuba Cheese prior to
retiring. Her greatest joy was being a
loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
Marjorie enjoyed hunting with her husband, gardening,
canning, baking, cooking, and loved her flower gardens. In addition to her
husband she is survived by a son, Arthur
D. (Barbara) Carney of Geneseo, NY; 3 daughters, Beverly (David) Newton of Beverly
Hills, Florida, Bonita Sortore of Friendship, Marsha (Karl) Kruger of Friendship; 9 grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carroll (Helen) Goodliff of Belmont, LeRoy
(Charlene) Goodliff of Wellsville, several nieces and nephews. In addition to
her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Joseph Goodliff and a sister
Helen Warner. Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home &
Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1-3
p.m. at which time funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Maple Grove
