Audrey L. Kio, 85, of Ulysses, PA, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY, surrounded by her family. Born April 23, 1933, in Loucks Mills, Ulysses, PA, she was the daughter of Hugh and Neva Thompson Flynn. On August 23, 1953, in Bingham Township, she married Donald F. Kio, who predeceased her on August 28, 2007. Audrey owned and operated restaurants in Ulysses and Genesee. She founded and operated Circle K Speedway in Whitesville, NY. Surviving are: five children, Michael Kio, Darrwin “Duke” (Sally) Kio, Thomas (Donna) Kio, and Steve (Sharon) Kio, and Donna (Durell, Jr.) Houghtaling; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Ann Kio of Ulysses; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Jonathan E. Kio, on January 13, 2018; a granddaughter, Melinda Houghtaling; a great-granddaughter, Morgan Kurtz; six brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call at the Ulysses United Methodist Church on
Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with a Memorial Service following
at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Mel Ternes will
officiate. Memorials may be made to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
