Friendship - Gregory F. Bessette, 60, of 7777 Searles Road
passed away at home on Friday, March 23, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was
born December 24, 1957 in Cuba, the son of Howard and Barbara (Stark)
Bessette. Greg was a 1977 graduate of
the Belmont Central High School. While in High School he worked for the former
Felix's Motors in Belmont, and upon graduating he entered the US Navy. He
proudly served his country until his discharge in 1980. While in the service he
attended Old Dominion University and holds three degrees from Alfred State
College in the Automotive Trades. After graduating from Alfred he began a
career in selling automotive parts in Wellsville and later in Jamestown. He
retired from Advanced Auto Parts as a Supervising Manager after 20 years of
service at various locations. He enjoyed camping with his friends and competing
with the atlatl and doing flint knapping. Most of all he loved being surrounded
by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and making everyone laugh.
He is survived by his loving companion, Linda Brundage, his
mother, Barbara Cronk; his children, Elizabeth (Paul) Dimpfl, Suzzanah
Bessette, Jennifer Jimmerson, Karen Finnemore, and Donald Brundage; his
brothers and sisters, Beverly (Howard) Costley, Michael Bessette, James
(Adenia) Bessette, Charles (Valerie) Bessette, Joseph (Lisa) Bessette, Mike
(Jodi) Cronk, Melissa (Mike) Belden, Julie (Kevin) Borden, and Karen (Brett)
Comstock; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, several nieces and
nephews, his dog Baxter, and Clem his goat. He was predeceased by his father,
Howard and his step father, Robert Cronk.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 21, 2018,
from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 17
Schuyler Street in Belmont. Burial with military honors will follow the
visitation at Forest Hills Cemetery in Belmont. There will be a reception at
the American Legion Post 808 in Belmont following the burial. Please consider memorial
