On August 7, 2017 the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) arrested Nicholas D. Maroney, 20 of Perry, NY, for Sexual Misconduct (A Misdemeanor).
In a previous investigation on July 29, 2017 in which Maroney was then employed as a camp counselor at YMCA Genesee/Camp Hough on West Lake Road in the Town of Castile, NY, when he allegedly returned to the campground intoxicated and went into the wrong cabin to sleep. Maroney was allegedly observed by other staff and campers exiting the occupied bunk bed of a 7-year-old female camper in the morning. At this time there is no report of sexual contact. Maroney was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Castile Court. Maroney was remanded to the Wyoming County Jail.
During the July 29th investigation, Troopers and BCI interviewed multiple campers and staff. It was alleged that Maroney had sexual relations with a 16-year-old female camper.
Maroney was arrested and arraigned at the Town of Perry Court.
