Wells Steadman, 82, of Rexville, NY, died Wednesday, August
9, 2017 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY. Born October 3, 1934, in Blossburg, PA, he
was the son of Vernon and Mildred Harvey Steadman and the step-son of Ally
Cramer. On September 3, 1960, in
Whitesville, NY, he married the former Carol Jean Waite, who survives. A US Army Veteran, he served honorably from
1957 – 1959. He was employed by General
Motors in Tonawanda, NY for 26 years, retiring in 1980 and returning to the
Whitesville area, where he owned and operated Steadman Motors. Wells enjoyed hunting, working on cars,
working with his tractors, bulldozers and backhoe, sawing logs with his
portable sawmill, woodworking, and visiting with anyone with similar interests. Surviving besides his wife, Carol Jean,
are: three children, Dan (Alicia Gee)
Steadman of Whitesville, Tawny McCullough of Wellsville, and Dusty (Cecile)
Steadman of Whitesville; eight
grandchildren, Amanda Steadman, Joey Schultz, Lyndsay Shultz, Jason Steadman,
Randi Elliott, Heather Steadman, Melissa Steadman, and Connor McCullough; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Stedman of Oswayo, PA; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey D.
Steadman; a sister, Lois E. Miller; and a brother, Harold Steadman. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home
& Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 4:00 –
6:00 p.m. with Funeral Services following at 6:00 p.m. The Rev. Timothy Armstrong will
officiate. Burial will be in Whitesville
