Born March 15, 1968, in Wellsville, N.Y., he was a son of Clifford W. and Gloria Bliss Johnston Sr. On Sept. 3, 2011, in Eldred, he married the love of his life, Shannon Green, who survives.
Cliffie was a 1986 graduate of Bolivar (N.Y.) Central School.
He served with the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1989 and was stationed in Germany.
He was an outstanding son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Eldred and his parents of Bolivar are his mother-in-law, Minnie (Dan) Wilber of Roulette; father-in-law, Craig Green of Eldred; two sons, Clifford W. "Jay" (Brittany Clawson) Johnston III of Eldred and Jesse Saccamano of Friendship, N.Y.; a daughter, Ashley Aumiller of Eldred; a step-daughter, Tora (Cody McCartney) Chase of Hawaii; a grandson, Collin Johnston of Eldred; two brothers, Lee (Melanie) Johnston of Richburg, Marvin (Michele) Johnston of Eldred; two sisters, Jody (Scott) Atkins of Salamanca and Cindy (Dennis) Feldbauer of Salamanca; as well as many nieces and nephews with whom he was very close.
Friends may call from noon to 2 and 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred; and again from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday (Aug. 16, 2017) at the First Church of God, Eldred, at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Dave Means officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred Borough Fire Department or to the Eldred World War II Museum.
