Alfred State has plenty to cheer about
after learning of its

|
The 2021 US News & World Report Best Colleges list of
northern regional colleges also shows ASC tied for No. 6 in the Top Public
Schools. When compared to all public and private colleges in the 11-state
northern region, Alfred State is tied for No. 9, up one spot from last year.
“We are delighted that we have not only been named to US
News & World Report’s Best Colleges list once again, but that we continue
to maintain or improve our excellent rankings every year,” said Alfred State
President Dr. Skip Sullivan. “This is a collective achievement involving the
efforts of our students, faculty, and staff alike. I commend everyone involved
in making Alfred State a top choice for prospective students every year.”
This is the 14th straight year ASC is highly ranked by the
publication. The US News definition of a regional college is one that focuses
on undergraduate education with less than 50 percent of the degrees in liberal
arts disciplines. This makes for a more career-ready graduate. In the north, US
News is very selective in only awarding a numeric ranking to 53 northern
regional colleges for the 2021 list.
