Rosalee Karst, 60, of 9752 North Shore Rd., Cuba passed away
Friday, June 8, 2018 at Olean General Hospital after a brief unexpected
illness.
Born on February 1, 1958, in Olean, she was a daughter of
Elton and Marjorie Frazier Baker. On
June 17, 1978, at Cuba Lake, she married Donald E. Karst who survives.
Rosalee had worked for Farnsworth Cookie Factory, had been a
housecleaner for the Cuba Motel, was a cleaner and later a certified nurses
aide at Cuba Memorial Hospital and also was a private home caregiver for
several families in the area.
She loved her rose bushes, riding motorcycle with her
husband, and loved to bake for her family.
Two of her family’s favorite desserts were chocolate drop cookies and
her ginger bread, which she made for holiday gatherings. She was especially handy and could fix most
things.
In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda
(Dean) Fish of Salamanca and Heidi Karst of Friendship;
4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Glen Baker of Texas and Sam Baker of Salamanca; a sister, Crystal
(Ed) Neaman of Arcade; Many Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents and two brothers Tony Baker and Kenneth Baker. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial
Visitation on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home &
Memorial Service, Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba from 5-7 p.m. at which time a
Memorial Service will be held. The Rev.
Lynn Sullivan, pastor of Cuba First Baptist Church will officiate. Online
