Obituary: Lloyd Kailbourne, 96, Whitesville

WHITESVILLE - Lloyd Kailbourne, 96, of Whitesville passed away June 6, 2018 after a brief illness.
He was born May 12, 1922 in Huntley, Pa., a son of Daniel and Blanche (Logue) Kailbourne.
Upon graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and served from September 28, 1942 through October 1945. Returning home, he met Leola Hunt of Wellsville and they were married in May of 1947. She pre-deceased him in March 1998.
Kailbourne was employed by Sinclair Refinery in Wellsville for 17 years before relocating to Texas. He was then employed as a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service in Pasadena, Texas for 25 years. In Texas he met and married Roberta Openshow, who predeceased him in May 2000. Upon his retirement in 1984, he moved back to Whitesville.
He was an avid collector of cartoon glasses and Norman Rockwell memorabilia.
He is survived by his children, Kathryn (Eugene) Payne of Alabama, Evelyn (Jerry) Morris and Allan (Julia) Kailbourne of Whitesville, and Patricia Kailbourne of Ithaca, and one brother, Raymond Kailbourne of Wellsville. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
