Martha A. Baxter, 95, of Ellisburg, PA, died Sunday, April
1, 2018 in her home. Born April 6, 1922,
in Batavia, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Grace Towner Edson. On June
26, 1944, in Ithaca, NY, she married Raymond C. Baxter, who survives. A graduate of LeRoy (NY) High School and
Cornell University School of Home Economics, Class of 1944, she was employed as
a chemist by Union Carbide in Whiting, IN.
Martha was a member of the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church. Surviving besides her husband, Raymond,
are: three sons, Fred (Roya) Baxter of
Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Bruce (Candia) Baxter of Bath, NY, and Andrew (Margo)
Baxter of Jamesville, NY; a daughter, Susan (John) Murphy of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Ruth,
Eudora, Florence, and Frances. Friends
may call at the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church on Saturday, April 7, 2018 form
9:00 – 11:00 a.m., with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Roy Ward, Pastor, will
officiate. Burial will be in Andrews
