PRESS RELEASEOn March 18, 2018 at approximately 12:59 p.m., SP Machias Troopers arrested Heather E. Gearman, 32, of Chaffee, NY for Leandra's Law DWI, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Troopers stopped Gearman, with her 5-month-old daughter, on Liberty Street in the Village of Arcade for speeding and crossing over the center line multiple times. Gearman was placed under arrest after failing standard field sobriety tests. a search of Gearman's vehicle allegedly resulted in locating multiple amphetamin/dextroamphetamine dosage units. Gearman was transported to SP Machias for processing. Gearman provided a urine sample.
Gearman was issued tickets returnable in March 2018 for the Village of Arcade.
