Lyle F. Kalkhof, 90, of Wellsville, NY, passed away Monday,
March 26, 2018 in St. James Mercy Hospital, Hornell, NY. Born February 21,
1928, in Kossuth, he was the son of William and Leona Buell Kalkhof. On March
10, 1950, in Scio, he married the former Patricia Annabell Angell, who
predeceased him on October 1, 2017. A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably
with the US Army from 1952 – 1953. He was employed in the local oil fields
after high school, then went on to work at L.B. Jones Lincoln Mercury in
Wellsville, Air Preheater in Wellsville, and McCulloch Mite-E-Lite. He was a longtime
member of the Christian Temple in Wellsville, now Grace United Church and the
former Scio American Legion. He and his wife resided in the Wellsville area and
wintered in Lakeland, FL, where they were active in local churches. He enjoyed time spent with his family and
many friends. Surviving are: a son, Tim
(Mona Carbone) Kalkhof of Hornell, NY;
three grandchildren, Kayla Kalkhof, Ethan Kalkhof, and Lucien
Kalkhof; a great-grandson, Blake
Kalkhof; nieces, nephews, and
cousins. In addition to his wife, he was
predeceased by a son, Mark Kalkhof, on October 11, 1979; a brother, Lawrence
“Bud” Kalkhof; and a sister, Mary
Gleason. A Memorial Service will be announced on a later date. Burial will be in Stannards Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to Grace United Church, 289 N. Main St., Wellsville, NY 14895 or a
