The Next Generation Youth Center Receives ACAF Grant

The Next Generation Youth Center in Cuba, NY recently received a grant check for $500.00  from the Allegany Endowment Fund which is managed by the Allegany County Area Foundation. Carlos Barksdale (executive director of the center) said, “This grant money will be used to help purchase a computer to be used by the youth who attend.”
The mission of The Next Generation Youth Center (TNGYC) is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where teens can come learn and be afforded the opportunity for personal development through the provisions that enhance life skills, self-motivation and self-image. The center offers free homework help to Teen Center members.  Additionally, the Teen Center hosts a variety of social, academic, and recreational activities, such as tournaments, movie nights, tutoring, and more.  They also have a number of amenities that will keep their visitors busy including: computers, foosball, large flat screen TV's, a ping pong table, a pool table, air hockey, and video games.
