Meth lab busted in Bath



On Saturday, July 22, 2017, the New York State Police responded to a purported methamphetamine lab at a private residence located at 7162 State Route 54 in the Town of Bath.  According to Senior State Police Investigator Curt Eaton, the initial investigation revealed that materials used in the production of Methamphetamine were in fact present, and the N.Y.S.P. Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (C.C.S.E.R.T) was called in.  Further investigation allegedly revealed an inactive meth lab, which was subsequently remediated by C.C.S.E.R.T.   Alan L. Sherry, Jr., age 47, of 9 Howell St., Bath, who was present at the residence, was allegedly found to be in possession of quantities of suspected cocaine and suboxone, and was subsequently charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th (D Felony); criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree and possession of a controlled substance outside its original containerSherry was arraigned before Town of Bath Justice Jim Burns and remanded to the Steuben Co. Jail without bail.  Eaton said the investigation into the meth lab in continuing.
