Wellsville: November election brings fresh faces

It won't be long before lawns in Wellsville and points beyond will be filled with those "elect me" signs! According to the Board of Elections website, there are plenty of 'fresh' faces seeking office in November.
In the Village of Wellsville, retired police officer Jeffrey Monroe has tossed his hat in the ring. Monroe is running to fill a vacancy on the village board. At the town level, Michael Miller and Patricia Graves are running for council seats. Retired trooper Shawn Walsh wants to remain Town justice and Bill Fish wants to fill a vacancy on the town board. It should be noted that the above candidates have filed designating petitions to run for office. The Board of Elections still must validate the petitions, so it's possible that the list could thin.
In the District 4 (Wellsville/Andover) county legislature race, there are some new and familiar faces.
Former Wellsville Airport manager Gary Barnes has filed a petition, as has Steve Havey, Karl Graves and Kevin LaForge. Incumbent Tim O'Grady, opted not to seek re-election.
