Beverly J. Phillips “beloved mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother”
LOCKPORT, NY---Beverly J. “Bev” Phillips, 84, of Lockport,
formerly of Bolivar, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday,
July 10, 2017, in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, after a short illness.
Born on December 28, 1932 in Little Genesee, she was a
daughter of Malon L. and Alta L. Torrey Wilson.
Bev was a graduate of Bolivar High School. She was employed for over 30 years at
Harrison Radiator in Lockport, retiring as a floor inspector.
She was an avid golfer, a member of the Harrison Chorus
group, and loved to play Bingo. She enjoyed her cats. Bev’s greatest love was her family to whom
she devoted her life.
Surviving are four children, Brad A. Phillips of Buffalo,
Lorrie R. Rigby of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Karen J. (Shannon) Vineyard of
Whiteville, NC, and Rodney S. (Karen DiNatale) Phillips of North Tonawanda;
five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bev was predeceased by two
brothers, Raymond Wilson and Richard L. “Dick” Wilson; and a sister, Marie L.
Kellogg.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside burial service at
2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in the East Sharon Cemetery,
Shinglehouse. The Rev. Thomas E. Brown,
pastor of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of
the donor’s choice.
Bev’s family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard
Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
