FREE Smoking Cessation Class Offered to Allegany County Residents

Wellsville, New York- Members of the Allegany County Community Wellness Committee are pleased to announce the upcoming Smoking Cessation Class scheduled for August 3 – August 31, 2017, Thursday evenings from 5:30pm – 6:30pm at the Jones Memorial Hospital.
“Smoking is a leading cause of heart disease. Smoking can raise triglycerides (a type of fat in your blood), lower "good" cholesterol (HDL), damage cells that line the blood vessels, cause thickening and narrowing of blood vessels, and cause clots to form, blocking blood flow to the heart,” explained Ann Weaver from the Allegany Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
Pre-registration for the five week smoking cessation class is required by July 26, 2017.  Successful course completers will receive FREE Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Please contact Ann Weaver at Allegany Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc. at 585-593-1920, ext. 713, to enroll.
