Dougherty reports the arrest of a Black Creek, NY man for drug-related charges
after a traffic stop on Interstate 390.
On July 11, 2017, Deputy Shawn Whitford, who was assigned to
the Operation Safe Interstate Initiative on Interstate 390, stopped a vehicle
for vehicle and traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop,
Deputy Whitford allegedly located numerous items of drug paraphernalia
including a hypodermic needle and a fake cell phone that was actually a
measuring scale.
The Deputy Sheriff arrested the operator of the vehicle, 36-year-old
Christopher E. Herron, for the traffic violations as well as Criminal Possession
of a Hypodermic Instrument and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd
Degree.
Herron was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the
Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Herron was later arraigned in Mount Morris Court before
Justice Lapiana. The Judge released
Herron on his own recognizance (ROR) and he was set free pending further court
action.
