Black Creek man faces drug-related charges in Livingston County

INTERSTATE 390: Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Black Creek, NY man for drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 390.
On July 11, 2017, Deputy Shawn Whitford, who was assigned to the Operation Safe Interstate Initiative on Interstate 390, stopped a vehicle for vehicle and traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Whitford allegedly located numerous items of drug paraphernalia including a hypodermic needle and a fake cell phone that was actually a measuring scale.
The Deputy Sheriff arrested the operator of the vehicle, 36-year-old Christopher E. Herron, for the traffic violations as well as Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.
Herron was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
