Pamela Rouse, 58, of Splendora Texas, passed away Saturday
morning, June 3, 2017. Pam was born July 26, 1958, in Wellsville, the daughter
of Ashley and Nancy Towner Rouse. On April 8, 2001 she married James Demezas.
She was predeceased by both her parents.
She is survived by her husband James Demezas, brother James
(Nancy) Rouse of Princeton, New Jersey; sister, Debra A. (David) Root of Scio
New, York. She is also survived by a nephew, Christopher A. (Jamie) Root of
Scio; and a great nephew, Payson A. Root and a great niece, Kinley A. Root. Pam
was a 1976 graduate of Scio High School and a 1980 graduate of Rochester
Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
She lived for a short time in Buffalo before moving to Texas in 1984 and over
the years she was employed with Hickham Industries in La Porte and has worked
as an IT Manager at TeleCheck/ First Data Corporation for the last 20 years.
Pam may have been small in stature but she had a huge heart.
She was passionate about loyalty to her many friends and her love of family.
She was the most compassionate dog advocate, which showed in her participation
in e-Rescue and her time on the Board of Directors of e-Rescue Houston, INC.
She worked tirelessly to rescue abandoned and sheltered dogs, by finding warm
and inviting homes for them. It would be hard to find anyone in the long-time
Houston rescue community who didn’t know Pam.
Pam was also a founding member of the Cold River Cattle
Company BBQ team. She was an integral part of organizing CRCC’s booth at the
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Barbecue cook-off. For thirty years, with a
gorgeous smile on her face and her Iconic Black Cowboy hat on her head, Pam
worked tirelessly to help raise over $150,000 for Sunshine Kids and Small Steps
nonprofit organizations.
Pam held a special place in her heart for the family cottage
at Rushford Lake where she spent her summers growing up. She came home as often
as she could to enjoy the “best” corn-on-the-cob and the beautiful fall foliage
of her home.
Pam’s family is filled with gratitude for the out pouring of
love and support they have received since her passing. Pam will be dearly
missed by a large network of friends and family.
Celebrations of Pam’s life will take place both in Texas and
New York.
July 8, 2017 a celebration of life will take place at
Splendora Gardens, 26014 Midline rd., Cleveland TX, 77328, from 2 – 6 p.m. Pam
will make a final trip home to her beloved family cottage on Rushford Lake, for
a Celebration of her life with family and New York friends later this summer,
date to be announced.
