(Short Tract, NY) Be our guest! This summer, the Town Theatre of Short Tract presents the family-favorite musical Beauty and the Beast in the Fillmore Central School auditorium at 7:00 pm on July 6 and 7 with a matinee at 2:00 p.m. on July 8. With a cast of 50, this is one of the Town Theatre's largest productions to date. This popular show has attracted talented actors from area towns such as Wellsville, Houghton, Fillmore and Nunda and even includes a cast member from Kenya.
Rebekah Brennan of Houghton and Dr. Dawn Bennett of Short Tract are co-directors. Amanda Cox of Houghton serves as musical director. All three have shared their talents with the Town Theatre for many years.

Dr. Dawn Bennett created the Town Theatre of Short Tract in 1986. Since then, she has directed many shows, including L'il Abner, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver! and The Sound of Music. Rebekah Brennan previously played the role of Sister Sarah in our 1998 production of Guys & Dolls. She later directed our 2012 production of Guys & Dolls. Rebekah also directed several musicals at Houghton Academy, including Seussical and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Amanda Cox has been musical director for several Town Theatre shows, including Guys & Dolls and Allegro. She played the role of Maria in our production of The Sound of Music and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. She also directed Bye Bye Birdie and Meet Me in St. Louis.
Beauty and the Beast is the Town Theatre’s forty-ninth production.
Tickets are $10 ($8 for seniors and kids under 13) or $30 for a family (immediate family). Tickets may be purchased at the door.
