Olean Kmart to close; Wellsville safe...for now

The Kmart store in Olean will close in September. Signs posted on the front doors alerted shoppers of the closure in September. Liquidation sales will begin later next week. Corporate officials told the Times Herald that the decision to close the Olean location was “difficult, but necessary.” The newspaper also said a manager at the Wellsville store said there are no current plans to shutter that operation.
