Obituary: Mark A. Fiordo, 61, Bath - Son of former Wellsville Police Chief

Mark A. Fiordo, age 61, of Bath, NY died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born in Hornell, NY October 24, 1955 the son of Michael and Yolanda (Mattie) Fiordo. He worked as a purchasing agent at the Bath VAMC for many years. He was a retired veteran of the US Navy. Mark was a member of St. Mary's Church in Bath, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, Charles E. Wescott American Legion Post 173, Bath B.P.O.E. 1547, Bath Youth Football, Bath Rams Sports Club and he was an umpire and coach for the Bath Little League. Mark was an Auxiliary Police Officer and a Bath Fire Policeman for many years. His genuine kindness to others was one of his best qualities and he will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (VanDelinder) Fiordo; two sons, Daniel Fiordo and Michael Fiordo and Tiffany Rawleigh and granddaughter LiLiana Fiordo all of Bath, NY, sister Michele (James) Walker of Haddonfield, NJ, Aunt Freida Fiordo of Kanona, NY, father-in-law , Oscar VanDelinder; two sisters-in-law, Sharon (Brad) Conrad of Bath, and Susan (Charlie) Schimmel of Palm Bay, FL; nieces and nephews, Allison, Michael, Mark, Jordan, Zac, Hannah, Jeremy and Matthew and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents, Rosa and Antonio Fiordo.
Burial with military honors will be held at Bath National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name, to the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, 50 E. Morris St. and St. John Vianney Parish, 32 E. Morris St. both in Bath, NY 14810.
