Prattsburgh man arrested following serious crash

PRESS RELEASE
On June 20, 2017, at approximately 8:43 a.m. State Police responded to a serious three vehicle crash on I-590 southbound between Empire Boulevard and the Browncroft Boulevard exit in Irondequoit.
A disabled van was off the right shoulder being assisted by a State Farm Help Truck when a southbound vehicle left the right lane and struck the Help Truck from behind.  The Help Truck then struck the van it was assisting and hit 2 people standing in front of the van.
The operator of the southbound vehicle, David A. Young, age 61, from Prattsburgh, NY was arrested for DWI, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Assault 3rd Degree and numerous traffic infractions.
Young was taken to Strong Hospital for his injuries and is currently still admitted.
The Help Truck operator was treated on scene for a head injury.
The other 2 people were taken to Strong Hospital for minor injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
