Canisteo man charged with 14 counts of sexual abuse; Victim was 15


New York State Troopers from the North Hornell barracks announce the arrest of a Canisteo man stemming from an investigation regarding possible child abuse.  Patrick A. Runyan, age 26, of West Main Street in Canisteo, was arrested on Saturday and charged with fourteen counts each of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree (a class “B” misdemeanor) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class “A” misdemeanor). State Police Investigator Brian Mayhew alleges that, on fourteen separate occasions spanning from January to March of 2017, Runyan intentionally and repeatedly subjected a 15 year-old child to sexual contact while at a residence in the Village of Canisteo.  Runyan was arraigned before Town of Hornellsville Justice Richard Scavo and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Canisteo Court on 03/24/17 at 8:00 a.m.
