Ronald C. MANNING, 83, of Genesee, PA, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY. Born February 1, 1941, in Corning, NY, he was the son of Ralph A. and Reva I. Moon Manning. A 1960 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from July 6, 1960 – July 5, 1963 with the 82nd Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, NC. On August 2, 1961, in Harrison Valley, he married the former Beverly A. McConnell, who survives. He was employed by Fernstrom Trucking in Alexandria, VA, Worthington in Wellsville, and owned and operated Genesee Barber Shop. Ron was a member of the Wellsville Full Gospel Church, Genesee Volunteer Fire Department, and American Legion Potter Post #192 in Coudersport. Surviving besides his wife of over 62 years, Beverly, are: three children, Jamie Kevin (Dianne) Manning of Ulysses, Christine (Nelson) Martin of Westfield, and William C. (Robin) Manning of Genesee; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cindy Compton of Belvidere, NJ; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two great-granddaughters, Megan Martin and O’rianna J. Manning; and two sisters, Regenia B. Monroe and Janet L. Cary. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the Wellsville Full Gospel Church, 2221 Hanover Hill Road, Wellsville, NY. Rev. David Williams will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702. Cremation was at OLNEY-FOUST Private Crematory.
