Angelica – Brenda Warner, 85, passed away peacefully at Highland Park Nursing Center in Wellsville, New York, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Brenda was born on September 10, 1938, in Angelica, New York, the daughter of the late James and Onalee Phippen Graham. She married the love of her life, James Brown Warner, on July 13, 1963, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Angelica.
A lifelong resident, she graduated from the former Angelica Central School “Class of 1956” and went on to graduate from E. J. Meyer School of Nursing in Buffalo, New York.
A registered nurse, she was passionate about caring for everyone around her. Her fondest days on the job were those years spent as the school nurse and bus driver at Angelica Central School. Her kind and generous heart was reflected in the joy she found in helping others, especially children. Whether it be providing medical care or baking one of her famous apple pies, her love could be felt in everything she did. Brenda was most happy when her family was gathered together, cherishing every story, memory and laugh shared over a good meal. Her warmth and kindness, often expressed through the sentiment, "the door is always open," live on in the close bonds she helped create among her children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren, her greatest legacy.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her brother, Dale Graham. She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Graham Benjamin; her children Tammy (James Cerullo) Warner and Daniel (Mary) Warner; her grandchildren Paige (Scott) Ludtka, Curtis Warner and Audrey Warner; her great-granddaughter Eleanor Ludtka; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Park Circle, Angelica. The Rev. Richard Hamlin will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Angelica or the Angelica Hose Company. To send a remembrance please visit www.brownandpowersfuneralhomes.com or on Facebook @ Brown & Powers FH.
