It was a crazy day Thursday in Cattaraugus, Allegany and McKean County (PA). 39-year-old Edwin J. McPeak of Olean was charged with armed robberies at a bank in Olean and a credit union in Portville. The massive police responses resulted in area banks placed on alert and school lock-outs in Portville, Cuba and Bolivar. Pennsylvania State Police caught up with the man in Eldred (McKean County). He faces 11 counts, 7 of them felonies. His charges are:
McPeak was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William K. Todd at 4:31 p.m. Thursday and remanded to McKean County Jail with bail at $1 million. A preliminary hearing is set for June 13th.
