Allegany County hires a new fire coordinator

Allegany County has a new Fire Coordinator. William "Bill" Day Jr. of Wellsville will officially begin the job on Tuesday June 18th. Bill, a firefighter with more than 30 years experience, currently holds the position of Wellsville First Assistant Fire Chief. Steve Havey is the Chair of the Allegany County Public Safety Committee and said it "was a rigorous hiring process." Havey noted that he is pleased with the decision from the County Administrator and said "Day is more than qualified."
